Mission Statement

We exist to know and proclaim Jesus.

Values

Value 1: Gospel

The good news is our hope. We receive God’s grace because of who he is and what he has done.

Value 2: Scripture

The Bible is for everyone. We teach the Bible as the true story that changes lives.

Value 3: Discipleship

Our head, heart, and hands belong to Jesus. We learn to follow and worship him by taking the next step.

Value 4: Community

The church is a family. We love one another by using our gifts as we gather, give, and serve.

Value 5: Mission

The good news is for the world. We share Jesus with our neighbors and the nations.

Rhythms of a Healthy Proclamation Member:

RECEIVE AND REJOICE IN THE GOSPEL:
● You believe the good news that Jesus saves sinners and have testified to the gospel through baptism as a believer. You seek to grow in your understanding of the gospel by applying it to all of life (Rom. 1:16; 6:3-4; Eph. 2:8-10; Col. 3:16-17).

LEARN SCRIPTURE:
● You submit to the Bible’s authority in your life and aim to grow in your love for God by reading, studying, and memorizing Scripture regularly (Ps. 119:9-11, 2 Tim. 3:16-17).

FOLLOW JESUS:
● You seek to be a disciple of Jesus by following him in daily personal fellowship and by participating in the discipleship rhythms of Proclamation. This includes engaging in discipleship and community environments such as Groups, Men's and Women's Bible Studies, The Institute, etc. (Acts 2:42-47; Heb. 10:23-25).
● You daily seek to turn from sin and grow in your knowledge, love, and obedience to Jesus (Eph. 4:22-24).
● You seek to preserve the gift of marriage (as a heterosexual and monogamous relationship) and agree to seek pastoral/marriage counseling before pursuing divorce from your spouse (Matt. 19:1-12; Mk. 10:1-12; Lk. 16:18; 1 Cor. 7:10-11; 1 Cor. 6).

GATHER, GIVE, AND SERVE THE FAMILY:
● You prioritize gathering together with the church weekly. As a member of the family, you seek unity, give generously of your finances, serve by using your gifts, and pray for the church and her leaders (Heb. 10:23-25; 1 Pet. 4:10-11; 2 Cor. 8-9).
● You follow biblical procedures for settling conflict in your relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ (Ps. 141:5; Matt. 18:15-17; 1 Cor. 5:9-13; Heb. 12:5-11).
● You follow the biblical leadership of Proclamation’s elders (Heb. 13:17; 1 Thess. 5:12-13; 1 Pet. 5:1-5).
● You notify the church if you move or desire to seek church membership elsewhere. Upon leaving, you will unite with another church where you can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word (Acts 18:27).

LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS AND THE NATIONS:
● You love your neighbors by sharing and living out the implications of the gospel where you live. You also pray, give, and go to support Proclamation’s local and international missions efforts (2 Cor. 5:20; 2 Tim. 2).

Elder Responsibilities

The elders of Proclamation are entrusted with teaching, protecting, leading, equipping, and caring for the church body and her members. The elders seek to embody the mission, values, and discipleship rhythms of Proclamation. By the power of the Spirit, the Elders:

● Live lives of integrity (1 Timothy 4:12; Titus 2:7-8)
● Teach the gospel and guard the faith (Titus 1:9; 1 Timothy 3:2)
● Care for our members (1 Peter 5:2-3)
● Pray for the church and her members (James 5:14-16)
● Lead and direct the church (Acts 14:23; Acts 20:17, 28)
● Lovingly exercise discipline when necessary, for the glory of God, the good of the one disciplined
and the health of the church as a whole. (Matt, 18:15-20; 1 Cor. 5)
● Set an example and join members in fulfilling church membership obligations. (Phil. 3:17; 1 Tim. 4:12; Titus 2:7-8; 1 Pet. 5:3)
● Steward the resources of the church for the kingdom of God (Matt. 25:14-30).
