Kids Minister Job Description

Title: Kids Minister
Reports To:  Director of Operations
Status: Part-time (20 Hours Per Week)
Salary: $30,000 annually ($28.85/hour)

Summary:
The Kids Minister will be responsible for overseeing the kids ministry (birth-5th grade), leaders, and volunteers at Proclamation Church. He/she will be responsible for aligning Proclamation's kids ministry with the overall mission, vision, values, and strategies of Proclamation Church, coming alongside families to disciple the next generation.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute Sunday morning kids ministry programming (birth-5th grade) that aligns with the overall church vision
  • Oversee, manage, and troubleshoot kids ministry setup and teardown each Sunday
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and coach kids ministry volunteers
  • Select, create, and implement curriculum for all age groups within the kids ministry
  • Equip parents to become the primary disciple-makers of their children at home
  • Maintain excellent and clear communication with parents and families
  • Manage first-time guest registration, check-in, and follow-up for new families
  • Coordinate weekly with the Director of Operations and staff on service elements and family discipleship strategy
  • Plan and execute kids ministry events throughout the year
  • Manage the annual kids ministry budget
  • Ensure compliance with all child protection and abuse prevention policies
  • Regularly evaluate the kids ministry environment
  • Prepare spiritually to lead and disciple with excellence
  • Lead and support in other areas of ministry as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Member of Proclamation Church
  • A daily pursuit of Christian maturity
  • Agree with and live in alignment with Proclamation Church statement of faith
  • High capacity and flexibility
  • A heart for kids, families, and the discipleship of the next generation
  • Experience leading in kids ministry, spiritual formation of children, and/or Christian education is preferred
  • Ability to encourage, empower, and coach other leaders and teams
  • Organized, strong delegator and follow-through, with the ability to cast and execute discipleship vision
  • Ability to create a positive and intentional leadership culture
  • Proficiency in GSuite, Microsoft Office, and Planning Center
